Hope for a brighter tomorrow begins with Jasmine Azure.

This was the first shoot I did specifically for ImportMix, which means it must have been Spring of 2002. So yeah, a long time ago, during a simpler time… before “wardrobe malfunctions” and everything was called “i” something.

Jasmine Azure has that girl next door hotness thing going on, knows a thing or two about cars and you can’t see it in these shots… but the kicks… Jordans. OK. Not to say that men are perfect, god we suck, but if more women were like this… I think wars would end, global warming would stop and offering mail-in rebates would be punishable by death. I’m just saying.

Ashlee Sem invokes cookies and gold stars.

Mar 26, 2009 @ 9:50 PM - Posted by Jon Hu

I had heard of Ashlee through friends and finally caught up with her at an event. I got her number, called her a few weeks later and set something up. She was willing to try anything for the right shot and very laid back, which helped… keep reading.

Besides where to find models, finding locations is the next question I get asked. Honestly, I am always scoping out for spots. You’d be surprised how many cool places you drive by every day. This Park & Ride had just been built and was almost empty. But all these new Park & Rides have security cameras, so you have Transit Police watching everything that you are doing. Luckily they didn’t show up until we were almost done… cookies and gold stars.

Making magic with Kerryann De La Cruz.

Mar 24, 2009 @ 6:18 PM - Posted by Jon Hu

Here is part two of the Kerryann De La Cruz shoot. Like I said in part one, this was one of my best shoots. The lighting was perfect, the location was freshly painted, and nobody got arrested for trespassing… it was like magic. *poof* Tada.

I almost got a new look, courtesy of Natalia Marie.

Mar 20, 2009 @ 8:17 PM - Posted by Jon Hu

Rango from Blaze Entertainment was promoting for a new club, don’t remember the name, so I went to get hammered and show support. As you know, most clubs have go-go dancers. And as you know, this usually includes the unwritten 10 feet rule… try to get within 10 feet of a go-go dancer and security will beat your face in. Well Natalia Marie was one of these go-go dancers. Luckily I knew Rango. I had enough time to hand her my card and yell something that she probably didn’t understand, before security thought I was a perv and told me I was done. A week later we had the shoot, and then she moved to LA. Yeah, you read that right.

Sonya Lee, a reminder of why high school sucked.

Mar 18, 2009 @ 5:28 PM - Posted by Jon Hu

A friend suggested that I only post a handful of my favorite shots for each past photo shoot; otherwise this is going to take too long. Sorry. I will try to include some that you ImportMix guys have never seen before, like you would remember.

Let’s see, I met “Sonya Lee” at a Seattle HIN (Hot Import Nights)… I want to say 2005. The shoot went good, everyone had a good time… but after the shoot she didn’t reply to emails or phone calls. This was the one feature on ImportMix that didn’t have a model Q&A. It was like high school all over again, but this time I didn’t wait by the phone all weekend.
