Kerryann De La Cruz helps me make my dream come true.

Okay… here we go kids, Kerryann De La Cruz in her third photo set from the old ImportMix website. If you missed any of them, use the Kerryann De La Cruz tag. I may do one more ImportMix flashback post after this, but don’t hold me to that. I have been trying to get some photo shoots set up, but I’m hitting some bad luck with schedules (model, studio and mine)… ah the good old days. A friend asked me, “Why are you starting up again?” I didn’t have an answer for her, but after thinking about it…

Ever since I was little, I’ve longed for business cards that said, “On a scale of 1 to 10, I’m the sh*t.”

Dare to dream big.

Chau got me in touch with Jonathan Jones from 2001Films to see if there was anything I could do for him. Incidentally, Jonathan was working with Eric Weller on an indie film project, “Want and Curiosity”. I have always wanted to be part of an indie film that was more than just a college student with a $200 Sony Handycam and some friends. Since I didn’t really know that much about the film, Jonathan forwarded me his entire inbox of emails from Eric and the script. After reading the script, seeing the storyboard images and getting some great inspiration from my friend Diana… I got to work. The script was my biggest influence, because it was the complete version of Eric’s vision. I need to thank Maxim for his development help and support. I can’t wait to see this film, it’s gonna be totally awesomeness with popcorn.

I ended it with Rachel, but it’s almost time for redeployment.

Victor Joe’s RX-7 with Rachel, a friend of Josh Mackey, was the last photo shoot I did for ImportMix. We then finished all the sponsorship/advertising contracts and closed it down. I won’t get into the lengthy details here, but it was taking too much time, we were tired and needed a break. Luckily we all had other offers to follow, that was about 3 years ago. But I miss designing and more importantly… shooting.

I think this will be one of the last ImportMix posts I do, depends on timing, new stuff should be coming. I’ll have an update on “Project Totally Awesomeness” soon and I also found a studio, thanks Vivian. I’m fighting my way back in… older, wiser, and this time rollin’ solo… with reinforcements at the ready.

Yet another reason why I miss LA, Jenny Chu.

A few weeks before HIN (Hot Import Nights) hit Seattle, Jenny Chu dropped me an email. She introduced herself, let me know that she was heading up for the event and wanted to meet up for a shoot during that weekend. We decided to say hello at HIN and do the set the day after. Of course the weather was garbage on the day of the shoot, typical for Seattle, so we just ended up staying in her hotel room. She could have cared less, turned on her music and did her thing. The best.

OK. Not that Seattle is hell on Earth, but LA has a better pros versus cons ratio. The Seattle weather… moist. The Seattle traffic is just as bad… “Wow, floating bridges!” No you don’t understand. The Seattle socks & sandals combo… the next person I see doing this will end up barefoot. I miss LA… visitcalifornia.com bookmarked, “California - Find yourself here”. Damn right.

I’m sure that most of you have no idea who I am or what I do. Hopefully the ImportMix photo shoots don’t give you the wrong impression, then again… maybe the photos have nothing to do with it. Hahaha… anyways, please read my About page when you get the chance.

Back on topic. During the last two weeks I have been working on a deal that finally closed today. Yeah! Chau made the introductions, I want to thank her. This small image is from my mock-up. It should be finished within a couple of weeks, I’ll post the URL then. There is still a crap load of Flash and front-end dev work to be done. But here is what I can say, it’ll promote an indie film that will get shot later this year in LA or SF. So for now I’ll code name it “Project Totally Awesomeness”. I’ve read the script and I’ve seen the cast wish list… trust me, it fits. And dude, this had better not be an April Fools joke.
